We had a lawn problem.
When the sod for our new homes were laid by the home builder, not a single grain of good top soil was put down to help the grass in the sod have strong roots.
Red clay soil, accounting for up to 25% - 50% of soil composition in Jefferson County, MO.
We became lawn obsessed.
Our lawns were already at a disadvantage. Over time, weathering was starting to erode the thin layer of good soil that came with the original sod.
Clay soil is heavily compacted, making it difficult for grass roots to expand and easily access water and nutrients.
We fixed our problem.
Although watering and fertilizing are great for the existing grass roots, we needed to core aerate and over-seed the lawns seasonally. Leaving us with healthy, lush, and vibrant lawns.
