You took the first step to a better lawn 💪

Thank you for being a customer. Let’s walkthrough what you can expect next.

Core Aeration

  • Our core aeration equipment will go no further than 4 inches into your lawn.

    • If you denoted that you would like utilities marked on your lawn for core aeration, you may expect a Missouri 811 representative around this time to place flags and some lawn paint down prior to our work.

Overseeding

  • You don’t have to do anything at this point.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, there is no cancellation or rescheduling fees and you may do so by reaching out to us.

Core Aeration

  • Please let us know about sprinkler lines, electric fences, or any other buried foreign objects if you have them.

  • Mow your lawn to a low height (ideally around 3”) and water it a day or two before the scheduled aeration to ensure the soil is moist but not soggy. This makes it easier for the aeration machine to penetrate the soil and pull out better plugs.

    • Do not water or turn on your sprinklers if outdoor temperatures are at or below freezing.

Overseeding

  • Mow your lawn to a low height (ideally around 3”) and water it a day or two before the scheduled overseeding to ensure the soil is moist but not soggy. This makes it easier for the seed to make good seed-to-soil contact.

Day of Service

  • Please keep children and pets inside for the duration of our services.

  • Please make sure all sprinklers are turned off, we don’t want to be tempted to play in the water.

Core Aeration

  • We will arrive and confirm there is no additional sprinkler lines, electric fences, or buried foreign objects, as well as confirm utility lines if they were marked.

  • We will perform core aeration on your lawn.

  • We will avoid hills or steep lawn/property grades if we deem the incline too unsafe for your property, your family, our staff, or our equipment. We will inform you of areas we were unable to get.

Overseeding

  • We will arrive and perform over-seeding services on your lawn with a premium Tall Fescue type.

After we are finished with your lawn, we will send you an invoice with payment details via email, and full payment will be due no later than 14 days after receipt of original invoice.

For both core aeration and overseeding, we ask that you begin watering your lawn after we perform our services, the day of, assuming temperatures are not at or below freezing conditions.

1 - 4 Weeks After Service

Aftercare is so vital in ensuring success of core aeration and/or over-seeding. We recommend the same regimen for both services.

  • Proper watering during the first four weeks is crucial for the success of the new grass seed.

  • Keep the seedbed damp for 28 days to allow for full seed germination.

  • Avoid overwatering; aim to moderately dampen the top several inches of soil.

  • Depending on weather conditions, you may need to water more than once a day.

  • Water each zone for 10-20 minutes every morning when temperatures are cooler, allowing better water penetration and reducing evaporation.

Do not water or turn on your sprinklers if outdoor temperatures are at or below freezing.

>4 Weeks After Service

  • After 4 weeks, once the new seed has fully germinated, return to a regular watering schedule.

  • Water 2-3 times per week.

  • Apply a total of 1” to 2” of water weekly, depending on your soil type:

  • Clay soils: Retain moisture longer and typically require less water (closer to 1”).

  • Sandy soils: Dry out quicker and need more water (closer to 2”).

  • The best time to water is in the morning when temperatures are cooler and evaporation is minimized.

Do not water or turn on your sprinklers if outdoor temperatures are at or below freezing.

That’s it. We will see you next year. Please feel free to reach out if you have any additional questions or concerns.
